Hello and welcome to this fact filled site.

Spider Crazy?

On Spider Crazy you will find a lot of information, some of this information can be found on other spider sites.  I set up Spider Crazy after trying to identify a spider and found my self going to this website that either linked to another website or back on the search engine to find another website.
It was at this point I thought that my passion for spiders and frustration at not getting the information should combine; a website was born and shortly named
Spider Crazy.

What is Spider Crazy about?

Spider Crazy is a one stop shop covering what I feel should be known about spiders, the common misinterpretations about spiders and some facts that people may or may not know about spiders.  I also covered a scenario about how spiders attack to try and help people understand spiders are not “an eight eyed biting thing”, in fact there is a group of spiders called “six-eyed spiders”.  I also felt two sections on the spiders of our world that contain venom classed as “affects humans” was needed to help people Id a spider but also if they visit another country they can find out what spiders to look out for.  Lastly I feel Spider Crazy is an educational place for people who also have the fear of spiders AKA arachnophobia.

The work it took:

Spider Crazy was born on the 01/01/2004 but not many know this as it all started without a website, Spider Crazy started on some grid paper just using notes I had used when looking for information I needed.  I expanded and started to think about what I wanted from my website, I soon moved from paper to computer making notes and started months of research, going into shops and looking at books and looking online.  I spent a total of six months intense research before the thought of a website layout came into the picture but after six months I felt there was enough information to create a website, so in June 2004 Spider Crazy website was born and using bullet points to line out the website and short bursts of information to help people understand what Spider Crazy was and what information would come out of it.  It was now mid-2005 and a year after the website went live I had a strong structure of the website built up but still needed working on especially making sure the information was correct and up to date.

I spent a lot of hours putting information into the website behind the scenes before uploading it so there was minimal disruption to the site.  To this day I still work on the website till the early hours behind the scene keeping the copyright up-to-date, keeping all the information in date and relevant.
I know adverts are annoying but it helps pay for the domain name and I hope donations will help pay for the web hosting

Hope you enjoy your visit

Peter Tugwell.
